After the confusion chaos and conflict regarding the presence of Pakistani artistes in Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, there was a studied silence over the presence of Ali Zafar, the affable singer-actor from across the border, in Gauri Shinde’s eagerly awaited Dear Zindagi.
When Ali was seen to be missing from all the teaser trailers and promotional clippings of Dear Zindagi speculation that his role had been chopped off, began to gather momentum.
Cutting through the rumours, director Gauri Shinde finally confirms Ali’s presence in Dear Zindagi. “He’s very much a part of my film. Like the other young actors Kunal Kapoor and Angad Bedi, he has an important role to play.”
Gauri feels saddened by Ali’s absence from the promotion and marketing of Dear Zindagi. “It is unfortunate that such a situation happened.”
