It’s been a while since we reported that Kajol will be making her debut in Tamil cinema with none other than popular actor Dhanush in VIP 2. The film is a sequel to Vellai Illa Pattadhari and it had already gone on floor in Chennai. However, considering the ongoing unrest in the state of Tamil Nadu over the bull sport, Jallikattu, the film apparently suffered a minor setback and Kajol is now back in Mumbai.
Kajol, we hear, has returned to the city due to the current political situation in Chennai and it seems that the actress was asked to return on the first day of shoot itself. It is being said that the shoot has been suffering since the time the film went on floor on January 20 owing to the difference of opinion about the ban on Jallikattu. Readers may be aware that the Tamil film fraternity have been extending their support to the sport and because of the same several films have suffered a setback in its release or shoot schedule.
Yet another reason for Kajol’s immediate return was the ailing health of her mother-in-law Veena Devgn. Just a day ago, we reported that Ajay Devgn returned from Baadshaho shoot to be beside his mother who has been hospitalized. As of now, Kajol is in the city and as of now there are no details of when the actress will resume the shoot.
VIP 2, directed by Soundarya Rajnikanth, also stars Amala Paul among others and has Kajol in a negative role. The film is slated to release by the end of 2017.
