The trailer for Student of the Year: After Dark is out, and it takes the familiar franchise somewhere much darker. Directed by Reema Maya and produced by Dharmatic Entertainment, the series premieres on JioHotstar on November 13, with Shanaya Kapoor making her OTT debut in her first double role.
Kapoor plays twin sisters Aayesha Malik and Aditi. When popular student Aayesha is found dead, her twin Aditi refuses to accept it was an accident and enters St. Teresa’s fiercely competitive Student of the Year contest to find the truth. Her investigation turns the competition itself into a suspect list, as her sister’s closest friends and rivals each hide something.
The series trades the franchise’s campus romance for a murder mystery built on ambition, secrets and pressure, with Sheeba Chaddha, Vivek Gomber, Abhinav Singh, Divik Sharma, Manya Grover and Deeya Damani in support. Kapoor has called playing the contrasting sisters one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences of her career so far.
