The makers of Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana have revealed the official poster for “Ramayana: Rise of a Legend,” and it is every bit as grand as the epic deserves. The sweeping artwork sets Lord Rama against Ravana across a cosmic, star-filled battlefield, carrying the tagline “Mankind’s Greatest Story Comes To Life” — a bold statement of intent for what is being positioned as Indian cinema’s definitive mythological spectacle.
The film brings together Ranbir Kapoor as Rama, Yash as Ravana and Sai Pallavi as Sita — three of Indian cinema’s biggest stars sharing the screen for the first time. It is produced by Namit Malhotra, whose Academy Award-winning visual effects company DNEG is behind films including Dune, Interstellar and Inception, and features a score by Academy Award winners Hans Zimmer and A.R. Rahman.
Based on the celebrated ancient epic, Ramayana: Rise of a Legend tells the story of Rama, a prince bound by sacrifice; Ravana, an immortal king driven by vengeance; and the prophecy that binds their fates together. The film releases in theatres worldwide in Hindi and English on November 6, timed for Diwali.
