Emraan Hashmi’s Awarapan 2, one of the biggest Hindi box-office hits of the year, has arrived on streaming — quietly. The film began streaming on Prime Video on October 9, 2026 with no advance announcement, catching subscribers by surprise before the platform confirmed the drop with a promotional video: Hashmi simply going about his day, deadpan, with the franchise’s signature track “Tera Mera Rishta” in his headphones — a winking nod to the promo that became a meme.
Directed by Nitin Kakkar and produced by Vishesh Films, the sequel picks up nearly two decades after Mohit Suri’s 2007 original. Hashmi returns as Shivam Pandit, a gangster-turned-recluse living alone in Rajasthan and haunted by his late lover Aaliyah, until an unexpected connection drags him back into a cartel war in Bangkok. Disha Patani and Shabana Azmi co-star, with Suvinder Vicky as the central antagonist.
The numbers underline why this streaming drop matters. Released theatrically on August 14, 2026, Awarapan 2 grossed ₹213.01 crore worldwide according to trade tracker Sacnilk, making it the biggest solo hit of Hashmi’s career — and his first major solo theatrical success since Raaz 3 back in 2012. The 2007 original underperformed on release but grew into a cult favorite online; the sequel has finally given the franchise a genuine box-office juggernaut. Now it’s streaming — Shivam Pandit is back home.
