Ajay Devgn has commenced filming for Chauhaan, his Kashmir-set action thriller directed by Neeraj Yadav, in Kargil, Ladakh. The shoot marks Devgn’s return to the region 23 years after he filmed LOC: Kargil there in 2003. According to a Bollywood Hungama report, the actor arrived in Kargil a few days ago and has already begun filming, with the production team securing the required permissions in advance and making elaborate arrangements to keep the schedule on track in the region’s cold, rugged terrain.
The film is backed by Jio Studios and Aanand L. Rai’s Colour Yellow Productions, marking Devgn’s first collaboration with Rai. Set against the backdrop of unrest in Jammu and Kashmir, the story reportedly explores the challenges faced by security personnel and police, drawing from the turbulent security situation in the region including developments surrounding the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019. The title announcement teaser was unveiled on June 25, 2026 — the birth anniversary of Devgn’s late father, legendary action director Veeru Devgan — and closed with the line “Pathaanon se kehna, Chauhaan aa raha hai.”
Chauhaan is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on October 1, 2027, timed for the Gandhi Jayanti holiday weekend. Devgn also has Golmaal 5 in January 2027 and Ranger in mid-2027 on his slate, making 2027 one of the busiest years of his career.
