From LA to the world — Ramayana: Part 1 just had its world premiere. #Ramayana #RanbirKapoor #SaiPallavi #Yash #DesiVibe
Ramayana is building steadily toward its November 5 release. Advance booking figures reported on November 1 put the film’s opening-day advance at Rs 22.67 crore across India including blocked seats, or Rs 18.85 crore excluding them, with around 5.04 lakh tickets sold across 12,719 shows in 1,408 cinemas spanning 412 cities. Across its first two days of shows, advance bookings had already reached Rs 33.15 crore including blocked seats.
Maharashtra is leading the advance race with Rs 4.39 crore in opening-day gross, followed by Karnataka at Rs 4.18 crore and Delhi-NCR at Rs 3.46 crore. On current trends, trade observers expect Ramayana to open as the second-biggest opener of 2026, behind only Dhurandhar 2, with a first-day total comfortably above Rs 60 crore nett within reach. Dhurandhar 2 registered Rs 38.77 crore in opening-day advance sales and a Rs 75 crore nett opening day, and its Rs 100 crore single-day feat from earlier this year is now being talked about as Ramayana’s first target — particularly on November 9, the day after Diwali, if word of mouth lands.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana, with Sunny Deol, Ravi Dubey, Anupam Kher and Kajal Aggarwal in the ensemble. The film arrives as one of the most expensive Indian productions ever mounted, in IMAX, 3D and premium large-format screenings. With three days of advance sales still to run, the question is no longer whether Ramayana will open big — it is how big, and whether the post-Diwali holiday can turn a strong opening into a historic one.
