Ramayana: Part One has crossed ₹221 crore at the worldwide box office in its first two days, but the second day brought the first sign of a slowdown. Early estimates from industry tracker Sacnilk put the film’s India net at ₹48.05 crore on Friday, down 26 per cent from Thursday’s ₹64.85 crore opening, taking the two-day India net to ₹112.90 crore.
The worldwide picture is still formidable. The film grossed an estimated ₹128.75 crore globally on day one — ₹77.50 crore from India and ₹51.25 crore from overseas — and added ₹92.30 crore on day two for a two-day worldwide total of ₹221.05 crore. The makers, meanwhile, have claimed a bigger opening-day figure of ₹155 crore worldwide, calling it the highest pre-Diwali opening in Indian cinema history — a gap between the official claim and independent trade estimates that is now part of the story.
The Hindi version is doing the heavy lifting. It collected an estimated ₹47.50 crore net on day one, roughly 73 per cent of the India total, while the four South Indian versions together contributed ₹17.01 crore, led by Kannada at ₹7 crore. The film opened in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and English, and with the Diwali weekend now under way, Saturday and Sunday will decide whether the epic turns its record start into a record run. Part 2 is slated for Diwali 2028.
