One of 2027’s most awaited films just got a bigger sound. Bollywood Hungama has exclusively learned that Himesh Reshammiya has come on board to compose the music for Naam – To Live Is War, the Veer Pahariya-starrer presented by Mahesh Bhatt. The film was announced in June and also features Fukrey’s Varun Sharma in his first-ever negative role, with Prashant Narayanan, Vijayant Kohli and Shefali Bagga recently joining the cast.
According to a source, the makers wanted a composer who could do musical justice to the film’s intense subject and theme — and Himesh, impressed by the plot and the team’s passion, readily agreed. He was equally excited about collaborating with Mahesh Bhatt again after a long gap.
The two go back a long way. Himesh composed ‘Soorat Pe Teri Pyar Aave’ for Footpath (2003), with which Bhatt was associated as a writer, and later headlined Kajraare (2010), whose story and screenplay Bhatt wrote, composing and singing every song in the film. After The Xposé in 2014, Bhatt had personally called Himesh to congratulate him — an emotional moment the composer still talks about. Naam – To Live Is War marks their reunion after nearly 16 years.
Like his other upcoming projects — Sooraj Barjatya’s Yeh Prem Mol Liya, Emraan Hashmi’s Gunmaaster G9, Anil Sharma’s Arjun Naga and Vikram Bhatt’s 1920: Cold Winter — the music rights of Naam – To Live Is War have been acquired by Himesh’s own label, Himesh Reshammiya Melodies. Directed by Sidhaant Sachdev and produced by Utsav Upadhyay and Riddhi Chawda under Utsav Entertainment and Productions, the film marks Pahariya’s third outing after Sky Force (2025) and Prem Keetanu (2026).
