Aditya Roy Kapur and Tara Sutaria are set to share the screen for the first time in Milap Zaveri’s Parwana, an intense musical love story backed by T-Series. The film brings together a fresh on-screen pairing, with music placed firmly at the heart of the romance.
The project carries a deeply personal meaning for Zaveri, who has decided to dedicate Parwana to his mentor, filmmaker Sanjay Gupta, who died on October 30. Zaveri had shared the title with Gupta just days before his death, and the veteran filmmaker was delighted — his father had produced the original film of the same name. “We met 10 days ago and I told you the title of my next film. And you jumped in joy,” Zaveri wrote, calling Gupta his “Guruji.”
For Sutaria, Parwana marks a reunion with Zaveri after their 2019 collaboration Marjaavaan, while Kapur joins the director’s world for the first time. Plot details remain under wraps, but with T-Series backing the film and a soundtrack expected to drive the storytelling, Parwana is shaping up as one of the most closely watched romantic dramas heading into production later this year, eyeing a 2027 release.
