Vijay Salgaonkar’s final chapter is off to a historic start. Drishyam: The Conclusion, which hit theatres on Friday, October 2, has delivered the biggest opening day of Ajay Devgn’s career, with trade estimates putting its India net collection between ₹62 crore and ₹66.75 crore. The Gandhi Jayanti holiday handed the thriller a ready-made boost — and the film turned it into a genuine event: across 15,759 shows nationwide, it logged an overall occupancy of 67.08%, with night shows peaking at 76.46% as momentum built through the day.
The numbers place it among the biggest Hindi openings of all time — third on the all-time list, behind only Dhurandhar 2 and Jawan, and one of the two biggest openers of 2026. Worldwide, the film is estimated to have grossed around ₹92.9 crore on day one (₹74.4 crore India gross plus ₹18.5 crore from overseas markets), putting the ₹100 crore mark within easy reach on Saturday.
The advance-booking wave set the tone. Pre-sales opened on September 27 and the film registered the fourth-highest opening-day advance collection for a Hindi film, crossing ₹50 crore before release with roughly 13 lakh tickets sold before the first show. Reviews have been largely positive, with word of mouth singling out Devgn and Jaideep Ahlawat — who stepped into the antagonist’s role late in production — as the final chapter’s biggest strengths. If the weekend holds, Vijay Salgaonkar’s farewell could well become one of the defining theatrical events of the year.
