Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff escaped unharmed after three bike-borne assailants opened fire on his vehicle in Mumbai’s Juhu area on Sunday evening. The incident took place as the actor was leaving a football ground near Pushpa Park, with four rounds reportedly fired at his car. Shroff’s driver sustained injuries in the attack.
Mumbai Police have registered a case under the Juhu Police Station, confirming that the actor is safe and did not sustain any gunshot injuries, and that further investigation is underway. Twelve police teams, including the Crime Branch, have been formed to track down the motorcycle carrying the three riders, with CCTV footage from the area being reviewed. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis spoke to Mumbai Police Commissioner Deven Bharti over the phone and directed a swift investigation, while state minister Ashish Shelar confirmed the actor is safe and that he is in touch with the family.
A social media post by a person calling himself Anil Pandit, claiming to be associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, has claimed responsibility for the firing — a claim the police have not verified. The incident follows a string of similar attacks on film personalities in Mumbai, including a firing at filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s Juhu residence and the April 2024 firing outside Salman Khan’s Bandra home. Shroff was last seen on screen in ‘Baaghi 4’.
