A new Pakistani film has locked in a cast with serious star power. Shaan Shahid, Sadia Khan and Mikaal Zulfiqar are set to star together in “Pashmina,” with filming scheduled to begin next week following the project’s poster reveal at Punjab University. The three actors announced the project separately on Instagram this week, expressing excitement as the film moves towards production.
Mikaal Zulfiqar shared a post about the film’s opening ceremony, writing, “My upcoming feature film Pashmina Opening Ceremony… Shoot starts next week… wish me luck.” Sadia Khan shared stories from the event and thanked the team, calling it “the beginning of something truly special” — and later posted a photograph with Zulfiqar, noting she was excited to work with him once more. The two previously shared the screen in the television drama Laa, the historical film Huey Tum Ajnabi (2023) and the PrimeFlix series Kon Sitaray Chu Sakta Hai.
Produced by Shehzad Rafique, the film is keeping its storyline, director and expected release date under wraps for now, with no details yet on the actors’ respective roles. The cast brings considerable experience: Shaan Shahid made his film debut with Bulandi in 1990 and has since built a career across acting, writing and directing, headlining Khuda Kay Liye, Waar and Zarrar, with 2026 releases Bullah and Psycho to his name. Sadia Khan first gained wider recognition playing Emaan in Khuda Aur Mohabbat, while Zulfiqar — who began in modelling before establishing himself in television with Diyar-e-Dil, Shehr-e-Zaat and Sang-e-Mar Mar — counts Cake, Sherdil and Huey Tum Ajnabi among his film credits. Audiences will have to wait for more on the story, but the opening ceremony makes one thing clear: Pashmina is officially underway.
