Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff’s firing case took a dramatic turn on Sunday night after a social media post claimed the Lawrence Bishnoi gang was behind the attack on the actor in Mumbai’s Juhu — a claim the Mumbai Police have not verified.
The post, shared by a person calling himself Anil Pandit, claims the gang opened fire on Shroff’s vehicle because of the actor’s association with Salman Khan, and warns of consequences for anyone who works with the superstar. The post also demands an apology from Khan over the 1998 blackbuck poaching case. Police officials said they are verifying the authenticity of the post and have not attributed the attack to any gang so far.
The claim lands against a long and documented history between the Bishnoi gang and Salman Khan. The gang, led by the jailed Lawrence Bishnoi, has threatened the actor for years over the blackbuck case — including a firing outside Khan’s Bandra residence in April 2024 and the murder of politician Baba Siddique in October 2024, both linked by investigators to the gang.
Shroff, however, has no documented prior history with the gang. No earlier threats, extortion demands, or public disputes involving the actor have surfaced, and the only alleged “warning” to Shroff comes from the unverified post itself. Shroff has never co-starred with Khan, though Khan played a part in launching his career — backing his debut Heropanti (2014) through producer Sajid Nadiadwala.
Sunday evening’s attack saw three bike-borne assailants open fire on Shroff’s vehicle as he left a football ground near Pushpa Park in Juhu. The actor escaped unharmed while his driver sustained injuries. Mumbai Police have formed twelve special teams to track down the assailants, and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has directed a swift investigation.
The investigation is ongoing, and police have not named any suspects.
