Ayushmann Khurrana’s spy comedy Udta Teer has turned a soft start into a surprisingly sturdy first weekend. After opening at ₹4.10 crore on Friday, October 23, the film climbed through the weekend to finish its first three days at roughly ₹19.45 crore net in India, with a worldwide gross of about ₹27.58 crore.
The trajectory is the story. Saturday brought ₹7.25 crore, and Sunday peaked at ₹8.10 crore — nearly double the opening day — as audiences responded to strong word of mouth for the Dharma Productions caper, in which Khurrana plays Bilal, a Pakistani spy who loses his memory and ends up working for Indian counter-intelligence, opposite Sara Ali Khan.
Trade watchers are now watching Monday closely. The film has a clear run ahead of it before the next big release wave, and if weekday holds stay steady, a finish around the ₹50 crore mark is within reach — a result that would look very different from where Friday’s numbers pointed.
