Salman Khan does things on his own clock, and his latest song arrived on it. At around 5 AM on Wednesday, without any prior announcement, the actor shared ‘Teri Sexy Beauty’, a new track from his upcoming film Maatrubhumi, on social media — and pointed fans to the full song on YouTube. His caption played on the song’s title and the early hour: “Departure time 5:12 am…. Flight on time, 2 pegs down taking off with my sexy beauty… pata nahi kahaan mai land karoon.” The video opens with Salman in a recording studio, headphones on, singing the track himself, before cutting to him in his Maatrubhumi look, dancing with fellow soldiers inside a bunker, with Chitrangada Singh alongside him.
The track is sung by Salman Khan and Muskaan, with additional vocals by Sajid Khan, who also penned the lyrics. Caesar Gonsalves has choreographed the number. The song’s official description sets its tone plainly: love, masti and a little madness, celebrating the lighter side of love with romance, playful chemistry and carefree moments. The release is being billed as Salman’s return to playback singing after an 11-year gap, following singing turns in films including Kick, Hero and Sultan.
Reaction online has been divided. Fans delighted at hearing Salman sing again shared the track widely through the morning, while others questioned whether a playful, flirtatious number fits a war drama. ‘Teri Sexy Beauty’ is the fifth song to arrive from Maatrubhumi, following the patriotic ‘Jai Hind’ last month. Directed by Apoorva Lakhia and produced by Salma Khan under Salman Khan Films, the film — first announced as Battle of Galwan, starring Salman Khan and Chitrangda Singh, and centred on the 2020 Galwan Valley confrontation — still has no revised release date after its April opening was postponed, and the makers have dismissed reports that it was shelved. For now, its music campaign is doing the talking.
