Ramayana has added roughly Rs 30 crore to its worldwide advance bookings in a day. Figures reported on the morning of November 4, the eve of release, put the film’s worldwide advance total at around Rs 135 crore, up from the Rs 105 crore reported on November 3. Indian advance bookings for the opening weekend stand at approximately Rs 77 crore gross, including Rs 33 crore from the first day alone, while overseas pre-sales have reached $5.6 million, including $1.5 million from paid previews in North America. Opening-day sales and previews together account for around Rs 70 crore of the worldwide total.
Trade estimates now point to a worldwide opening of Rs 150 crore to Rs 160 crore, with more optimistic projections reaching towards Rs 200 crore. Even the top of that range, however, would leave Ramayana short of the biggest Indian openings on record: Dhurandhar 2 is reported to have opened at Rs 205 crore worldwide, ahead of Kalki 2898 AD at Rs 176 crore, and trade observers note that the film may struggle to enter the all-time top five. The advance campaign has had its hurdles — bookings opened on Dussehra, October 20, but domestic sales were disrupted for a time by a revenue-sharing disagreement between distributors and exhibitors, since settled — and the final stretch will depend on word of mouth once audiences see the film.
The campaign’s final hours have gone global. Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash have travelled to London with director Nitesh Tiwari and producer Namit Malhotra for the film’s international promotional tour, including special screenings and media events ahead of the worldwide release. Allu Arjun added his voice to the build-up, wishing the team well and calling the film “not just a movie” but “a representation of our culture and an attempt to raise the bar of Indian cinema.” Ramayana: Part 1, starring Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana, with Sunny Deol as Hanuman and Ravie Dubey as Lakshman, arrives in cinemas worldwide on November 5, with paid previews on November 4. Part 2 is slated for Diwali 2027.
