Aneet Padda’s Shakti Shalini is on the move. The Maddock horror-comedy, previously targeting a Christmas 2026 release, is reportedly eyeing the first quarter of 2027 — a March slot — to avoid a direct box-office clash with Shah Rukh Khan’s King.
The shift gives the film breathing room, but it is also a poignant one: Shakti Shalini will be the final film to feature Nana Patekar, who had wrapped his scenes before his passing on October 8. Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar with a screenplay by Durgesh Singh, the film pairs Shakti — an ordinary woman who becomes a protector — against Shalini, a vengeful spirit hunting the men responsible for her brutal murder. The ensemble also includes Vishal Jethwa, Vineet Kumar Singh and Seema Biswas.
The film is the newest entry in the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe, home to Stree, Bhediya and Thamma. Patekar’s other completed project, Eetha with Shraddha Kapoor, is still expected in theatres on December 4, 2026.
