Diljit Dosanjh has answered a question his Bihar fans have been asking for two tours now: why has he never performed in the state? Speaking to fans on Instagram Live after opening the India leg of his AURA Tour in Delhi, the singer explained that it is not for a lack of trying — attempts were made during both the current tour and last year’s Dil-Luminati Tour, and both times the plan stalled before a show could ever be locked in.
The sticking point, Diljit said, was crowd management. Local authorities told his team the crowds would be difficult to manage and asked whether the team would take responsibility for it. His team said that responsibility had to sit with the administration — and when the administration did not take it on, there was no way forward. As he put it, a concert of this scale is not a small gathering but a massive crowd, with logistics comparable to mounting his Delhi show.
The comments came days after that Delhi concert at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on October 30, which had its own bumpy road to the stage: police initially raised security concerns before the show was cleared with additional safety and crowd-management measures in place, and the night itself went ahead smoothly. Diljit noted, with some frustration, that he performs all over the world, yet the problems seem to multiply when the India leg begins.
For now, Bihar stays off the map while the AURA Tour’s India leg rolls on to Indore, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Lucknow, Chandigarh and Kolkata through December. Whether a Bihar date is ever added will likely depend on the same question that stopped it twice already — who takes charge of the crowd.
