The Ministry of Home Affairs has released a new set of guidelines for Unlock 5.0. The MHA guidelines have allowed the cinema halls, multiplexes to reopen from October 15. Theatres will be permitted to start with up to 50 per cent of their seating capacity. The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting will be issuing an SOP concerning the same. Also, lockdown will continue to be in force in the containment zones till October 31.

On the other hand, according to Maharashtra government’s fresh guidelines, theatres will remain closed in the state till October 31. Also, Tamil Nadu government has not allowed to reopen cinema halls until end of the month.
Theatres were shut since March to curb the spread of Coronavirus. Films like ‘Baaghi 3’, ‘Angrezi Medium’, ‘Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan’ and more were among the last films to get a theatrical release.
